The Voice of Smart Youthful Gravitas

My clients around the world know me as the voice of smart youthful gravitas. Some have even called me a “Millennial Joan of Arc,” a modern Midwestern revolutionary badass! I’ll take it.

A modern young badass

I’m not confined to narrow norms and outdated expectations, and I won't greet you with a fake smile (though I do have a quick wit and cheeky sense of humor at the holster).

Thoughtful and authentic

My voice is real, connected, and bravely feminine, with a subtle gender non-binary streak. I speak for Millennial and Gen-Z young adults fueled by optimism to create lasting change in a difficult world.

Knowledgeable + Educated

I have a unique professional and academic background that adds depth to my performances.

Scholar and teacher

Before I became a full-time voice artist, I took a very brief detour as a research psychologist, earning major national honors from The National Science Foundation, publishing peer-reviewed scientific journal articles in the field of social psychology (with a research focus on intergroup emotions, prejudice, attitudes and persuasion), and teaching university classes in psychology, research methods, and statistics.

Also, I taught classes for one of the big test prep companies, specializing in the GRE, GMAT, and LSAT, which are admissions exams for graduate, business, and law school, respectively.

My educational background

I earned my master’s degree in social psychology from UC Santa Barbara, and I was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The Ohio State University with degrees in both music (B.A.) and psychology (B.S.), each summa cum laude with honors and research distinction. Also, I have TESOL certification from Arizona State University.

Real + Conversational + Authentic

After earning my master’s degree, I joyfully fled academia in favor of an entrepreneurial creative life. Despite my brief detour to the ivory tower, my voice remains real, conversational, and authentic.

Real person voiceover

I specialize in voicing “real people” who’ve been through something tough. My thoughtful grounded voice sounds like a trustworthy, nonjudgemental confidant talking to a friend. So, you’ll often hear my voice in PSAs and e-learning with a first-person testimonial about overcoming a big challenge.

Conversational Millennial

My voice is not overly polished or “salesy,” and although I can provide a typical announcer voice if you’d like, the non-announcery actual human being is my default.

Trained Vocalist

To supplement my natural sound and intuition, I’m a highly trained vocalist able to take direction easily.

Vocal training

At university, I trained in vocal performance (B.A., music/voice), so I have a solid foundation in vocal production skills including breath support, pitch, resonance, and phonetics. My vocal texture ranges from light and airy, to bright and energetic, to dark and mellow, to raspy with lots of vocal fry.

Midwester accent = optional

My everyday speech has a mild-to-moderate Midwestern accent, but this feature is totally optional! I’m extensively trained in the International Phonetic Alphabet—from my days spent performing opera—so I can speak with a Standard American accent (or the foreign language accent of your choice).

Improv actor

My goal is to fully capture your vision and bring your words to life, however you imagine them. I’m also ready to bring creative performance choices to our session: I have a solid background in improv, trained by Groundlings alum/Cheers showrunner Bill Steinkellner.

Award-Winning Writer

When I’m not talking, I’m writing!

Content writer

I offer content-writing services to my voiceover clients, including Ohio Legal Help, a nonprofit providing free advice to Ohioans.

Playwright and spoken word performer

In my free time, I write a variety of creative fiction and nonfiction: My award-winning one-act plays have been produced in NYC and at theaters across America, and I wrote an Amazon best-selling vocabulary study guide collection called The VocabuLOLary Series.

Professional Voice Over Talent

I’m a full-time professional voice over talent with Source-Connect. My studio is based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

Versatile

A versatile voice artist, I produce voiceover for commercials, animation, e-learning, corporate narration, explainer videos, promos, IVR/phone systems, audiobooks, and more for companies and organizations around the world.

Experienced

You may have heard my voice acting on national TV and radio broadcast, at international film festivals, on social media channels like Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter, during internal employee training for Fortune 500 companies, or via corporate websites or live events.

Excellent Service

Above all, I pride myself on providing excellent service for my happy clients.

Quick turnaround

I’m able to provide same-day turnaround for short-form projects like commercials and explainer videos.

My general studio hours are 10am to 6pm Eastern, but I work with people all over the world, and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule!
