E-Learning Demo
Individual tracks of my 2021 E-Learning Demo:
Professional E-Learning Narrator
I have nearly ten years’ experience producing educational voiceover content, including training modules for Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, schools, nonprofits, and government organizations.
Real-life educator . . .
Unlike many professional voice artists, who are simply actors, I have actual real-world teaching experience. I’ve taught university courses, K-12 extracurricular activities, and adult TESOL classes, so I provide authentic, credible instruction for a wide range of listeners from Fortune 500 employees to school children and more.
. . . and academic rockstar
Let’s back it up a few years: Before I became a full-time professional voice artist, and before I was a rockstar teacher . . . I was a super student!
I attended The Ohio State University on a full National Merit scholarship. There, I earned a B.S. in psychology and a B.A. in music, each summa cum laude with both “honors” (for taking extra advanced classes) and “research distinction” (for completing an honors thesis for each degree), plus a minor in statistics.
Then, I earned a master’s degree in social psychology at University of California Santa Barbara (a top-ten department in my field), where my research earned national honors from The National Science Foundation, The Ford Foundation, and The Society for Personality and Social Psychology.
Subject Expertise
Thanks to my unique educational and professional background, I am a real-life expert in a variety of subjects:
Standardized test prep
I’m a test prep rockstar. I taught LSAT, GMAT, and GRE classes for students preparing for graduate and professional school program admissions.
When I coached for one of the major test prep companies, I earned a special honor as an “Elite Instructor” based on my student ratings, because my classroom is not only effective . . . but also kinda like a solid party.
Social science research
With a master’s degree in social psychology, I’m an expert in topics like attitudes, persuasion, and judgement and decision making, and I have hands-on experience with a wide-range of research methods and data-analysis approaches. My research focus was prejudice, so I’m uniquely sensitive to issues of intergroup relationships.
TESOL
I have 150-hour TESOL certification from Arizona State University. With business partners in China, I created Xiao Man Shuo Hui, an advanced English conversation group for Chinese adults around the world.
Math
When I completed my undergraduate minor in statistics, I rocked advanced math classes like second year calculus. I’m equally comfortable with the basics: When I taught university-level math and statistics, I found that many students had unexpected gaps in basic math skills like fractions, which were never taught clearly in school, so I was able to offer simple explanations of the fundamentals, and scaffold students tackling advanced analyses.
Music
Preparing to be an opera singer, I earned a B.A. in music at The Ohio State University. After school, I worked as the assistant music director at The Rubicon Theater’s musical theater summer camps with kids in grades 3-12.
Medical
I’ve worked in a variety of medical contexts, including both human and veterinary medicine, so I’m comfortable with medical jargon and situations.
Millennial Voiceover
As a real-life educator—and real-life young adult—I can provide authentic Millennial voiceover for your next project.
Conversational voiceover
Listeners have a low threshold for BS, and don’t like to be talked down to, so some of the best educational content sounds like it’s being voiced by a smart friend at brunch. Because I have extensive real-life teaching experience, I can offer the natural conversational voiceover style that your audience expects.
Grounded-yet-engaging instruction
Yes, I have a lotta academic cred . . . but I also have the entertainment skills to keep your listeners engaged through even the driest content. My thoughtful youthful gravitas is grounded yet engaging, and buoyed by a light heart: I sang and danced in musical theater for decades, and I have many years of improv comedy experience, so I’m ready with jokes and razzle dazzle, when appropriate.
